I love the history and familiarity of a vessel, new and old. I expose these fabric paintings to the sea air so that salt is present in them physically. I transposed a pattern found on the sand to create a drawing that incorporates ocean life living on top of this container. I find them portraying strength, feminine energy, nature, and textured beauty.
The original vessel was inspired by the shape of an urn found in the Allegheny cemetery.
I draw with my grandmother's sewing machine to create the black stitch detail line surrounding the vessel.
I am so excited for you to receive your original art.

Add a Brass Fixture
These brass fixtures were sourced from traditional altar cloth fasteners. They use two small screws to cleanly attach to your wall behind the fabric. Just tighten the front + viola! hung cloth artwork.
